Cycling Theme Licks in E

This time I’m playing over a medium 12-bar shuffle blues in E, using an approach that instantly makes your soloing sound more “song-like”: cyclic theme licks. The idea is simple: on the first chorus I take one short lick and repeat it cyclically through the whole 12-bar form. On the second chorus I do the exact same thing, but with a new lick/theme. Instead of random phrases, you get coherent melodic lines that sit perfectly in the groove.
