I’ve been teaching these easy licks for many years, as a clear example of how to switch between major and minor within the 12-bar blues progression. For this purpose, I played the major 3rd (C#) on the I7 chord (A7), the minor 3rd (C) on the IV7 (D7), and the major 2nd (B) on the V7 (E7). I also played the minor 7th (G) on the I7 (A7) right before the chord change to create tension. I recorded this video playing on the Weekly Blues Rhythm 62 backing track in the key of A.
