Hello everyone!
Here’s a new solo I wrote called “Easy & Sweet Turnaround Solo #1”… and yes: it’s simple, super playable, and very expressive. It’s a slow 12/8 in C major, built on a classic turnaround loop: C – A7 – Dm7 – G7
The sound & the idea
This solo is mainly based on the C Major Pentatonic, but I added:
a Perfect 4th to give a sweeter, more “melodic” touch
a Minor 3rd used like a blue note inside a major sound
It’s also full of bends, because the goal here is phrasing, not speed.
How to practice it (quick tip)
Play it slow and focus on:
- bend intonation (make every bend land perfectly)
- breathing / space between phrases
- the chord changes of the turnaround (don’t just run the scale)
