THE STORY
Minor blues painted with late-night jazz colors
Blue After Hours explores a 12-bar minor blues in G minor through a richer jazz-blues harmony. A II-V movement toward Ab and a minor II-V resolution back to G minor create extra tension around the final bars of the form. The solo remains centered on the Blues scale, but chromatic passing tones and carefully placed arpeggios trace the chord changes and give the performance its late-night character.
